Projecting health-ageing trajectories in Europe using a dynamic microsimulation model

چکیده

Abstract The extent of the challenges and opportunities that population ageing presents depends heavily on population’s health. Hence, for development appropriate strategies enable countries to adopt emerging demographic epidemiological realities, information future health trajectories elderly is a natural requirement. This study an innovative methodological framework projecting individuals using dynamic microsimulation model considers interactions between sociodemographic characteristics, health, mortality, bio-medical behavioral risk factors. developed, called ATHLOS-Mic, used project cohorts born before 1960 period 2015–2060 selected European Countries SHARE data illustrate possible effects some factors education trajectories. Results show that, driven by better educational attainment, each generation will be healthier than previous one at same age. Also, we see average, individual our base live about 18 more years since start projection period, but only 5 in good Finally, find scenario removes effect having low level has largest impact projected average number lived per person,

Assessing Health Inequalities Using a Dynamic Microsimulation Model

The paper describes stage 1 of the development of a Health Module to a dynamic microsimulation model which simulates individuals’ life cycles. The life cycle approach has been shown in the literature to be important when studying health inequalities. The enhanced model accounts for the links between Australians' socioeconomic status and their health. The full model, which is able to project 20 ...

Validating a dynamic population microsimulation model: Recent experience in Australia

Available published research on microsimulation tends to focus on the results of policy simulations rather than upon validation of the models and their outputs. Dynamic population microsimulation models, which age an entire population through time for some decades, create particular validation challenges. This article outlines some of the issues that arise when attempting to validate dynamic po...

Dynamic Microsimulation: A Methodological Survey

This paper describes some of the issues related to constructing a dynamic microsimulation model. The paper considers the principle choices facing the model builder. These choices are whether the model should be probabilistic or incorporate behavioural response, whether model runs in discrete or continuous time, whether the model is open or closed, the extent to which static or dynamic ageing sh...

Dynamic Microsimulation Model of Impoverishment Among Elderly Women in Japan

The increasing poverty rate for elderly women is a growing concern in Japan and is generally due to their lifestyle changes and the public pension system based on the pre-1980s (old) lifestyle. At that time, women were expected to get married and become homemakers. Therefore, the public pension system is generous for married women and widows but not for never-married and divorced women. Using a...

Projecting Student Trajectories in a Computer-Assisted Instruction Curriculum

Ten models are proposed for predicting a student’s final grade placement in a computer-assisted instruction curriculum from the time the student spends taking lessons. Using data from approximately 2,000 elementary students, the models are tested both for ability to predict final grade placement and for ability to describe all points observed throughout the year. Two of the simplest models, usi...
